Michael A. Patchner, Ph.D.
Michael A. Patchner is Dean and Professor of the Indiana University School of Social Work, a position that he has held for the last eight years. He is the son of an immigrant coal miner and grew up in Appalachia. He has written extensively in social work, authoring numerous books, monographs, articles, and book chapters. He served as Chairperson of the Indiana Commission on Abused and Neglected Children and Their Families, which promoted numerous reforms in the state’s child welfare system. Currently, he is Co-chair of the Indiana Commission on Disproportionality in Youth Services, which is examining the disproportionate representation of minority youth in Indiana’s child welfare, education, juvenile justice, and mental health systems. He was an inaugural board member of the National Catholic Social Workers Association.

Patrick Cayouette, LISW
After growing up in Connecticut, Patrick attended Franciscan University of Steubenville where I not only received a Bachelors of Science in Mental Health and Bachelors of Arts in Social Work, but I also met my wife Amanda. Since his graduation from Franciscan, he has since moved to the Rochester, NY area where he has held positions of Mental Health Case Manager, Intensive Family Therapist, and in-home social worker. He received his Master of Social Work in 2007 from Roberts Wesleyan College and now works with a pediatrick Palliative care agency assisting families with children with life-threatening and terminal illnesses. Patrick was voted to the Director Member Services board position in November of 2007 for CSWNA. In his spare time, he helps his parish with Pro-life ministries, pastoral counseling and developing a young adult group.
