Introducing One of Our Association’s Board Members
Chris DesBarres and his wife, Amanda, live in Charlottesville, VA with their 4 wonderful children and decidedly acceptable dog. They own two companies: Wintergreen Home Watch, a property management firm in a resort area, and Help Unlimited, which assists senior citizens and busy professionals with their day-to-day money management.
Prior to going into business, Chris was a counterintelligence officer with the Defense Intelligence Agency, where he ran a program identifying and neutralizing terrorist groups’ intelligence networks. He deployed to Iraq in 2004-2005 in support of the Joint Special Operations Command. In 2006, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of clandestine human intelligence operations. In 2007, he was selected for a two-year rotation as a Duty Officer in the White House Situation Room where he provided crisis support to Presidents Bush and Obama and their senior White House staff.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, and his MBA from Wake Forest University. He serves on the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Council in Charlottesville and as a Den Leader for Pack 17 at Charlottesville Catholic School.
